Knowing the Differences between ADD and ADHD

The terms ADD and ADHD are both used interchangeably by those who are unfamiliar with the disorder. Both the terms sometimes create confusion, as it is not understood by a nonprofessional. The essential difference between the two, which must be understood by a person, is that, there is no difference at all. It is the just the name which is different of the same disorder that is being faced a person. ADD is termed as attention deficit disorder and ADHD is termed as attention deficit hyperactive disorder.

Doctors have themselves that there is no difference between ADD and ADHD as both the disorders are the same. The real or root cause of these disorders are not yet known but studies and research on this ailment has classified it under the category of a psychiatric disorder that affects children who are below seven years of age. Along with this, the symptoms of ADD and ADHD have also been monitored in old age.

Until date, the difference has been categorized under the symptoms of both ADD and ADHD. Along with this, both ADD and ADHD has been classified under three heads that is INATTENTIVE, HYPERACTIVE IMPULSIVE and COCKTAIL (blend of both). As the studies are getting deeper, the difference between ADD and ADHD is been considered as environmental and biological.
